Scout's House

Scout's House is a small expansion to a double brick home that was in need of a little more breathing room. A recessed reading nook has been included as an overflow to the well loved dining area and a new main bedroom has been pushed toward the rear yard, now flooded with light and allowing an openness to the garden that was previously buffered. 

The use of natural materials was imperative, such as recycled timber, natural linen upholstery and handcrafted brass light fittings. We retained and celebrated the character of the existing home by expressing the timber beam structure and maintaining once external wall finishes, now internal.
