Frankie's House
Frankie’s House is sited on the fringe of an urban setting, wrapped by bushland and rolling hills. The home has a dual relationship with its urban landscape and its native landscape through materiality, form and spatial planning. Hardworking materials encapsulate three pavilions that wrap around a central courtyard space. The living area opens privately into the secluded, North facing courtyard, sheltered from the surrounding urban area and directed toward the native landscape beyond the site. Internally, views are framed and focused in a balance between solar passive design, outlook and privacy from the street.
