  • Archer embraces the relationship between people and their places as the grounds to create wholistic and cohesive spaces for their unique everyday life. We design through being refined and thoughtful to achieve genuine affordability and environmental sensibility. We advocate for small footprint, efficient buildings that allow cognitive restoration and contribute positively to their surrounding communities.

Archer Design Studio respects and acknowledges First Nations People as the Traditional Owners of Country. We respect the locations we build on and design to connect to each distinctive place.

  • You, your site and the project parameters
We start by getting to know you and your site. We’ll chat through your brief making sure we understand what you’re wanting to achieve, visit the site to understand and investigate the unique context, and research the regulations and planning limitations to ensure a seamless design and approvals process.

    Concept design and refinement
Through iterative sketch designs, master planning and modelling, we will explore the site’s design possibilities. We will continue to refine the design from initial floor plan concepts through to incorporating form and materiality.

    Approvals
There are several planning and building approval pathways in the ACT and NSW that closely depend on the scope and scale of the project, we will discuss the options and each of their intricacies with you through the concept design phase. We will also coordinate with consultants such as engineers, energy raters and certifiers where required to gain planning and building approval.

    Construction documentation
Getting into the finer detail now we will develop drawings and details for pricing and construction such as joinery details, wet area details, lighting plans and material and fixtures schedules.

    Contractor selection
We will put together a tender package comprising the drawings, details and schedules that have been developed and circulate this to a select number of building contractors, giving you all the information you need to make an informed decision and get on site. Once on site, we can assist with any RFI’s you or the building contractor may have.
